Job Description
About the Role:
We're seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Principal Engineer for a 6 month contract.
You will need a strong background in Javascript/Typescript (Back End AND Front End eg React.JS, Next JS, VueJS), Python is a plus. You will be hands-on, delivering mission critical PoCs, discovery work and building innovative solutions. In this role you will be coding at least 50% of your time.
You'll leverage cutting-edge technologies and work alongside cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and resilient solutions. This is a high impact, high visibility role requiring effective communication with senior stakeholders and the confidence and mindset to come up with solutions and make recommendations based on your expertise and research.

Desired Skills and Experience
About You
You’re a visionary engineer who loves hands-on coding and PoC’s (you're currently coding 50% of your time or more), and thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments. You are degree qualified, and combine deep technical expertise with a passion for delivering impact and project outcomes.
Key Skills and Experience:
Extensive Back-end Experience and recent hands-on Front-End experience (eg ReactJS, NextJS or VueJS): Hands-on with JS/TS (BE AND FE); Python is a bonus. .
Public Cloud Experience: 2+ years' experience using public cloud providers (AWS, GCP or Azure), and related services such as IAM, EC2, S3, API Gateway.
Containerization and orchestration: Experience working in containerized environments like Kubernetes.
Databases: Experience creating highly performant relational and NOSQL database designs, data modelling and use of ORMs, like JPA.
Modern engineering principles and practices: You build highly automated solutions that require minimal manual effort – through automated testing and CI/CD tools (with IaC such as Terraform and CloudFormation) and DevSecOps principles; you have a real passion for quality, security, and continuous improvement.
Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional communicator who can work with technical and non-technical people and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
