Job Description

About the role

At CES, we have ambitious targets to keep billions of drink containers out of landfill and transform them into resources that can be used again and again. Our in-house designed SaaS suite supports this mission, and we’re looking for an experienced Delivery Lead to help us shape and grow good delivery practice in a pragmatic Agile framework.

As a Delivery Lead at CES, you will be instrumental in driving the successful delivery of Epics within our agile framework. You will lead dedicated squads through the delivery process, ensuring they meet and exceed quarterly goals while maintaining alignment with strategic initiatives and client expectations.  You’ll collaborate closely across Engineering, Product and with the Client Engagement Manager on high visibility, high impact projects.

This role requires a strategic mindset, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for driving continuous improvement within teams in an Agile practice framework.

If you’re ready to use your delivery leadership experience in a role that combines project delivery, oversight & reporting with driving pragmatic Agile practices, apply now! Join us in shaping the future of the circular economy through innovation and excellence.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Delivery Accountability: Lead the squads in achieving Epics delivery within agreed guardrails (quality, schedule, budget, scope), or realign as necessary.
  • Quarterly Planning and Execution: Lead planning activities and collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering Managers to plan epics, manage resources, and ensure delivery aligns with business milestones and budget constraints.
  • Squad Leadership: Foster a high-performance team culture through clear goal setting, metrics tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives in an Agile practice framework.
  • Stakeholder Management: Manage CES and Client stakeholders, communicating frequently to ensure transparency on delivery status and addressing any impediments promptly.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Coordinate with other Delivery Leads and other stakeholders to manage dependencies and optimize resource allocation across squads.

Key Activities:

  • Delivery Excellence: Will be your main focus – support the high performance of your squads; track metrics, facilitate sprint ceremonies, and manage cross-squad dependencies and risks.
  • Quarterly Planning: Lead prioritization activities, manage resource plans, and ensure accurate tracking in Jira.
  • Reporting and Governance: Provide periodic progress reports, manage timesheets for client billing, and support financial forecasting and client sign offs.
  • Product Portfolio Management: Provide insights into timelines, efforts, and risks for strategic roadmaps.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You:

  • Proven experience in a product environment as a Delivery Lead or similar role in Agile environments.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and experience with tools such as Jira.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication skills – both with internal teams and external client stakeholders.
  • Experience with governance and reporting requirements, and presenting to senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred - in Business Administration, Computer Science , or a related field.

Bonus points for experience with:

  • Software consulting and/or client product deliveries

About CES

Accelerating the transition to a circular economy

We are proud to be an active contributor in the circular economy through container deposit schemes (10c refund for eligible drink containers). We help our scheme partners to recycle close to 10 million drink containers every day, diverting them from landfill into the circular economy.

Our technology and services enable the circular lifecycle of drink containers. We have a large in-house software engineering team using modern technology stacks to develop and support our products. As well as a suite of SaaS products, our range of business services includes accounting, payments, brand & marketing, materials trading, HR, customer service and support.

CES was formed in 2017 as a joint venture between Lion and Coca-Cola Euro pacific Partners and has grown rapidly. We are headquartered in North Sydney, near public transport with beautiful harbour views. Our teams are passionate about our mission to ensure valuable materials are recycled and not wasted. We provide an inclusive culture, hybrid and flexible working and career development to bring the best out in our people.

Originally known as Container Exchange Services, we have rebranded to Circular Economy Systems to recognise our vision to be leaders in the transition to a circular economy.
